Presentation
The history of the text of the Qur’an has been a longstanding subject of interest within the field of Islamic Studies, but the debate has so far been focused on the Sunni traditions about the codices of Caliphs Abū Bakr and ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān. Little to no attention has been given to the traditions on ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib’s collection of the Qur’an.
This book examines both Shiʿi and Sunni traditions on the issue, aiming to date them back to the earliest possible date and, if possible, verify their authenticity.
To achieve this, the traditions are examined using Harald Motzki’s isnād-cum-matn method, which is recognised as an efficient tool in dating the early Islamic traditions and involves analysis of both matn (text) and isnād (chain of transmission) with an emphasis on finding a correlation between the two.

English Review: SCHOOLS NEED GOOD TEACHERS
"Imagine it's school and
everyone wants to go there", this well-known slogan comes to mind
spontaneously when you work through the innovative behavior guide. Because good
teaching stands and falls with the teacher's personality. Unfortunately,
teacher training is still lacking in this respect. This behavioral guide
provides orientation for prospective teachers and when they read and work on
it, they discover how self-competence is developed in dealing well with
themselves and others. You can only pass things on if you have made them
tangible for yourself, and this is exactly where this book comes in: It is a
kind of self-coaching tool with suggestions, tips and exercises, which makes
you want ’more'. For the new edition
there is an e-book that can be used with page references parallel to the
printed book and supports interrupted and repeated reading and learning through
numerous linked cross-references and the extensive, interactive index.
About the
author: Peter Denker - his real name is Peter J. Reichard - was born in 1942
and knows schools from different perspectives: - High school graduate, teacher
training student, trainer and trainee, - father of three children and Waldorf
school board member, - grammar school teacher, - further education moderator, -
school inspector, - headmaster, - author of educational publications. The
experience gained in such diverse fields of activity proves him to be a
thorough expert in the field of practical school pedagogy.

The author writes: “ Imagine, please: Everybody would
be attentive and friendly with each other, listened well, observed closely, and
judged carefully. Then people acted of their own free will, aware that they
were responsible for themselves, for each other and for the environment now and
in the future." This is exactly the goal of "education as
"development aid" to personalities with awareness raising“.
Peter Denker's pedagogical guide "Schools need
good teachers" provides the necessary skills. After all, it depends on the
behaviour of teachers if "education at school" is to succeed.
Many authors describe what they consider as necessary
for more school quality - but this book is different. Because it makes teachers
strong. And also because it is clearly stated when it is better not to take up
the profession of a teacher. Taking a stand is a great advantage of the author.
This certainly does not please all candidates for teaching posts, but it also
urges those responsible for education to supplement their teacher training,
which is mainly focused on subjects and didactics.
In this way,
every teacher can contribute to fulfilling the educational mission of the
school in a good way and to master the demands of his profession with success
and joy. The cover of the book illustrates that the teacher's self-competence
is the basis for his pedagogical effectiveness. At the same time, it is an
indispensable prerequisite for dealing well with students, parents, colleagues
and bosses.
More and more teachers feel overwhelmed by the
professional requirements. They miss not only the support of parents, but also
the appreciation of their work in public.
This is another reason why it is appropriate to
strengthen their self-control, their personality and their pedagogical
competence. One of the main motives of the author is to close the mentioned gap
in teacher training. At school, it is important that teachers are recognized
and respected as personalities and that the students have developed after the
end of their school careers as educated personalities with competence for
self-management, attention, empathy and foresightedly responsible action.
The author himself proves to be a trustworthy and
competent companion due to the school reality experienced and co-designed from
an unusually wide range of perspectives and reading. A highly recommended book
for those responsible for education, teachers and all who want to become
such ...

The Sudanese Mahdī headed a millenarian, revivalist, reformist movement in Islam, strongly inspired by Salafī and Ṣūfī ideas, in late 19th century in an attempt to restore the Caliphate of the Prophet and “Righteous Caliphs” in Medina. As the “Successor of the Prophet”, the Mahdī was conceived of as the political head of the Islamic state and its supreme religious authority. On the basis of his legal opinions, decisions, proclamations and “traditions” attributed to him, an attempt is made to reconstruct his legal methodology consisting of the Qurʾān, sunna, and inspiration ( ilhām) derived from the Prophet and God, its origins, and its impact on Islamic legal doctrine, and to assess his “legislation” as an instrument to promote his political, social and moralistic agenda.- Inhaltsverzeichnis
